“In
some countries, young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year
between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss
the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.”
Some
countries encourage their adults to get work or go travelling to fill their a-year-break-time
after graduating from the high school and before ennrolling to the University.
This policy-like, however, implicates the advantages and disanvantages for
those young people.
University
is oftenly considered as a mature and adult world. This common perception,
then, is consequently followed by some belief that to face a university need an
adaption thus young people do not get shocked as they enter the univeristy
world. Then, based on this point of view, the encouragement to work or travel
is originated and applied to the young people. It is invitable to not say that
this policy-like is unseful since the facts tell the facts for those who need any preparation, such as gathering money,
looking for an experiment, and any other. Meanwhile, young people who prefer to
travel might experience a different side of experience. Those who prefer to
travel might underlie their consideration on the need to widen their view of
the world in order to build a universal understanding or simply visiting a new
place. These examples are obvious as the advantages.
On
the other hand, a choice to enroll immediately to the university can not always
be considered as a unreasonable choice since an attempt to acquire a higher
level of education will always be an emphasis. Young people who decide to
immadietly go to the university might think that it is better to get to study
as soon as possible hence they can continue to the higher level of study.
Overall,
the advantages and disadvantages young people generate depend on the purpose of
those young people. Any activities taken might be a disadvantage activity if
they do not utilize it in a appropriate way. Meanwhile, the advantages might be
generated if those young people do otherwise.
